Estonian Paging Ltd. (EKO) is a joint venture based on Estonian and Finnish state capital. We have combined modern technics with the experience that Finnish Kaukohaku has accumulated in 8 years.
We are in operation since October 18, 1993. During the two active years we have built 20 transmitters and made paging accessible in nearly 90% of the Estonian territory. Besides, an EKO client can use paging all over Finland with no additional expenses to the client. The perspective of EKO is to extend the coverage area over the whole territory of Estonia, ensuring that 100% messages will be received.
To guarantee problem free operation of the system, the paging transmitters are positioned to TV transmitters. This secures uninterrupted power supply in case of emergency. Connection between the terminal and transmitters is ensured by renting communication cables from Estonian Telephone Company.
In our network, different pager types may be used. Pagers of companies like Philips, Motorola, Swissphone, Oi electronic, Ericsson, Panasonic e.a. are in use. For more specific information on how to join the EKO network, please approach our sales department.
EKO headquarters, client service and sales department are located at Laki 14 in Tallinn City.
