PAGING is a one-way radio transmission where the message is relayed with the help of an operator to a pager screen.
MESSAGE SENDER-
OPERATOR-TRANSMITTERS-MESSAGE RECEIVERPAGER is a small radio receiver that works on a particular frequency. Every pager also has its own number. Messages are directed to the right receiver with help of these numbers. Text, numeric or tone messages can be relayed depending on pager type.
Paging enables to communicate with people who have a job where they move around a lot and/or with whom communication in any other way at that moment is complicated. Practice shows that a pager has several advantages as compared to other means of communication.
PAGING TO EKO NETWORK
1. OPERATOR-ASSISTED PAGING
Messages can be dispatched by operators at the following phone numbers:
Main operator: 8 25 99 5555
The operator will answer. Give the number of the pager and the message.
2. AUTOMATED PAGING USING A COMPUTER AND A MODEM
The message is relayed when the computer is connected to a telephone network by a modem and you have received Estonian Paging's relaying program "PC-Operator".
Dial 8 25 99 3333 for connection.
3. PAGING VIA INTERNET
3.1. From EKO's homepage at http://www.kaugotsing.ee/teade.htm.
3.2. Via e-mail
a) To: xxxxxx@piipar.kaugotsing.ee, fill the mail body with message text box. ("xxxxxx" stands for the number of the receiving pager)
b) To: piipar@kaugotsing.ee, fill the message body with the pager(s) number(s) and start the text of the message from the second line. Message can be dispatched to a maximum of 5 pagers at a time, pager numbers shall be separated by an empty space.
4. PAGING VIA ESTPAK DATACOM NETWORK
4.1. For Estpak Data clients only
Dial the network address '19000505'. At that address Estonian Paging has launched a program which enables to relay messages to all pagers in the Estonian Paging network. Print the number of the pager and the message.
4.2. For everybody
By using the Estpak Data kiosk service LINK 25. Dial '8 2 9001 036' with help of a modem and choose service number 11. The price of the kiosk service is EEK 4 per minute + long distance toll; it will be charged to your phone bill.
5. PAGING BY USING THE DIRECT DIALLING SYSTEM
I.e. Relaying of messages without the operator's assistance. By dialling '8 25 99 4444' on a tone dialling phone, '6 313 933' in Tallinn and Harju County, you will hear the answering machine of EKO. Follow the instructions from the answering machine, end the operation by pressing '#'.
Listening to the message. When dialling '8 25 99 4444' on a tone dialling phone, '6 313 933' in Tallinn and Harju County, follow the instructions from the answering machine. For accessing your voice mail box dial the number and code of your pager (received by you from EKO together with your client agreement). End the operation by pressing '#'. You will need a separate agreement for to obtain a voice mail box.
